This custom cover is hand made one at a time by a single craftsman. It's often hard to get one although hundreds have been sold, there's never many available and they seem to disappear quickly after posting.

Sewing for Sanity

Sunday night and once again I'm packing; packing up the covers once again sold out over the weekend and packing the suitcase for Monday Travel.

It's no secret that making Kindle covers is my creative outlet and diversion from a real job,  In fact the copious amount of time either hanging around airports or traveling on airplanes is directly responsible for the design of my humble cover.  My Kindle gets quite a workout each week with at least three novels, two magazines, a daily news paper and more than enough miles, cities and hotel rooms than anyone deserves.  I wanted a cover that was light weight, durable and comfortable.  Unable to find the perfect combination, I made my own.  Hundreds of thousands of miles and many trips between the seat back pocket and in out out of my computer bag, the original is still hanging strong.

As I complete this weeks travel, Wednesday afternoon, I will have achieved Gold status on my favorite airline.  If the pace continues, Platinum should hit about April.  That's a lot of travel, thus the sanity issue.  The creative outlet of spending a Saturday listening to National Public Radio and making a few Kindle covers is the perfect therapy to forget last weeks travel and a nice reprise before packing for Monday.

I don’t know the reason my covers continue to be in demand with so many alternatives available. I have a hunch it might be simply because we are unique individuals with an innate desire to be just a little different from the crowd.
